American-German Exchange Program
It always surprises me the many similarities between American and German students. It only takes a few minutes for the students to get talking and the cultural differences just disappear. Today in class my students had the opportunity to ask visiting German students all kinds of questions about their lives. Their questions ranged from everything from sports to stereotypes. I truly believe that the world would be a better place if more people had a chance to talk with people from other countries.
The German students are taking part in an American-German Exchange program in Martin County. I have been volunteering with the group for several years. The Service Club has been exchanging video messages with students from the same high school in Germany. I am hoping to continue this video exchange throughout the year. I view it as a great learning experience for both the American and German students.
