Relay for Life
One of my favorite things about being a teacher is helping students find their passion. As adviser to the Interact Service Club, I get to help students develop volunteer projects in the community on topics that they care about. Over the years I have met many students whose lives have been touched by cancer. As a result, Relay for Life has been a great organization for students to support.
This year I was impressed by the dedication the school's captains Fatima and Tyler showed in bring the team together. The students organized a raffle and raised over $1,000. Along the way the captains kept the students motivated and showed initiative by helping other teams at the many different events. I feel very lucky to have gotten to work with these kids.
