Reunion in Ireland
Louise and I grew up 4,000 miles away from each other. Louise lives in the Shankill neighborhood in Belfast where she faced the daily threat of violence until the Peace Accords. When we were both 10 years old, Louise came to America as a part of an exchange program. After a wonderful summer together, she returned home and we weren't sure we would ever see each other again.
The uncertainty of our goodbyes make it that much sweeter when our families reunited to celebrate Easter this year. Louise is now married with two boys and one on the way. We spent our time teaching Caleb and Corey about hiding Easter Eggs and enjoying Louise's mom home cooking. It just goes to show that this world is a lot smaller place than we realize.
