National History Day Competition
I have wanted to have my students compete in National History Day since I first volunteered at the state competition during college. Working at the Early College has given me the opportunity to get my students involved in doing original research. The students really enjoyed picking their own topics and getting to explore them in depth. The Librarians and Writing Center at BCCC provided great resources for the students.
I held a school competition on December 12, 2012. The students’ projects were judged by Laura Ketcham, the State Coordinator for NHD; Dr. Chad Ross, the District Coordinator for NHD; and Keith Lyon, Beaufort County Community College World History professor.
