Regional National History Day


Regional National History Day Competition

Five Beaufort County Early College High School students have qualified to compete at the state level for the National History Day competition, April 27 at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh. They were among 10 students competing from Beaufort County on the regional level in Greenville, March 27.
Each student created an historical research project using primary and secondary resources with the supervisor of their history teacher, Amanda Smith. 

Those travelling to Raleigh for the competition will be:
Individual Documentary
Holocaust- Brandi Brewer (2nd place).
Individual Performance
Cotton Gin-Lovely Johnson (2nd place).
Individual Exhibit
Underground Railroad- Elizabeth Beacham (2nd place);
Lewis Hine’s photos- Erica Modlin (3rd place); and
Protestant Reformation- Timothy Sutton (3rd place).

Haley Hodges, Benjamin Puskas, Jennifer Watson, Joseph Coward and Megan Godley also competed on the regional level. The 10 students were first selected through competition at the school to compete on the regional level.
